WIP heart sweater

the vision for my heart sweater

When I first saw the heart sweater, I immediately knew I wanted to make it. I just never found the time to figure out how to make it. I’m just not a big fan of written patterns, but it was still on the back of my mind for a long time.

CHOOSING THE PERFECT YARN AND PATTERN

When I saw that ChendaDIY posted a collaboration video with the creator of the sweater, I was so excited! Out of all the channels about crochet that exist, I feel like she can read my mind. Whenever I’m looking for something, she always has a tutorial. For this, I chose a more expensive yarn (on sale, of course) because I knew that when it’s finished, I’ll wear it a lot. Of course, I miscalculated again. The front already took me about 5 skeins. Turns out I ordered 50 grams again. I always make sure to check everything, but I end up doing it again.

THE JOURNEY of my heart sweater

It’s been pretty good so far. Constantly having to change the stitch count in different places keeps it interesting. Unfortunately, I had to make some size alterations. You can make the sweater wider by making the heart bigger, but that also makes it longer. I tried a lot of ways to make it wider, but eventually, I decided it was easiest to just add some vertical lines to the side after making the heart square. It looks a bit funky but gets the job done.
